My name is Yanery Peralta, I’m so happy we have this space here to share our ideas.

I’m from the Dominican Republic and have been living in Queens, NY, for about four years. I have been studying at LaGuardia Community College since spring 2019, and I’m majoring in Education Bilingual Child. That will be my first degree, then I will enroll in  Latin American Literature/studies. I’m so passionate about reading and writing. Sometimes “reading and writing” are very difficult for me when it comes to classes, but I really enjoy them.

I hope we all have a semester filled with understanding and lots of learning!

Hi! My name is Pengzhi Huo. This is the second time that I take ENG class with professor Paul Fess. I have to say that my writing skill has been improved through his course, and I also learned many things from his class that was not available in other courses. For example, in his ENG101 class, I got to know more about European art and literature. I am majoring in business administration, the reason why I am choosing a business is that my parents are doing very successful business and I find many meaningful things in doing business with others which might increase my value and gain some true fortune. Respect to others is my value, this is very important to my success, when you live by your values, you feel better about yourself and are more focused on doing the things that are important to you, also, in my words respect to others which is this gold key to open the door of the successful business. I am very interested in physical exercises, and I deeply believe this might bring huge benefits to a person’s career. I exercise four times a week two hours a day, it doesn’t occupy much of my time, instead, it brings tremendous benefits, I could have a fresh mind and gain some confidence, which can help me to deal with daily issues and improve my academic studies to a large extent. My goal is to transfer to NYU as majoring in business administration Because NYU has the best business school -Stern School of Business. And there have many available resources inside the campus, which might help me to find a meaningful job in the future. I believe that through my hard work this is not a difficulty.

Hello, everyone. My name is zhongqi wu. You might guess at that I am from some eastern country when you see my name. Indeed, I come from a coastal city, Qingdao, in China. I have lived in America for about 7 years. The cultural diversity makes America more mysterious and deeply attracts me a lot. Colorful culture experiences is not only precious but also beneficial to my growing. Well, I think college is one of the best places to sense different features in culture. So I decided to go to college for enriching self and meanwhile taste culture. My intended major is PTA and it is actually my first year to step into life of American campus. Honestly, I still feel nervous and challenging, because study is always a tough job. But I long to be successful in my major studying as well as in my future career. Although various difficulties exist, I will definitely try my best to improve myself in language and knowledge studying. I hope I can do a good job in this ENG course.  Especially something like literature and poetry, it seems like an abstract and hard thing to be understood. Anyway, sure thing is I will learn a lot and strengthen myself. I believe dreams will come true one day.

Hi! everyone I am Michael Joseph Ramos currently living in Elmhurst, Queens, New York. I came to the United States of America from the Philippines. My Major is Nutrition Culinary Management concentrating on Culinary Option. Currently, this is my second semester here at LaGuardia Community Collge. I decided to take this program because I love to cook and I want to open my own restaurant in the future. Looking forward to interesting lessons and activities this semester that will improve my skills in English especially with writing.

My name is David Cuautle, I’m currently an accounting major. This is my 3rd semester of LAGCC.  In my free time, I play video games, watch movies, and cook. One of my favorite movies of all time is Under The Silver Lake. Recently I have been learning to trade stocks and have had some success but still learning the ropes. I also have been teaching myself video editing, its nothing special but I am improving slowly.
