The Youngers are a poor African-American family living on the South Side of Chicago. Lena’s children, Walter and Beneatha, each have their plans for the money. The oldest son, Walter wishes to invest in a liquor store. The younger sister, Beneatha, currently a college student, wants to use the money for medical school. Lena has plans as well for the money: she wants to buy a house for the family and finance Beneatha’s medical school. The environmental pressures are high: five people live in a tiny one-bedroom apartment, two families share a single bathroom, and the building is run-down and roach-infested. These pressures increase when Walter’s wife, Ruth, finds out that she is pregnant for the second time, and begins seriously contemplating abortion. Yet even in an environment where a request for fifty cents becomes a family conflict, there is room for ideas and dreams.

Considering the lawlessness and loneliness of the spot and the sort of stories. Captain Delano’s surprise might have depended into some uneasiness. Amasa Delano discovers a distressed slave ship in need of aid, only to later find out that his perception of the dire situation was completely incorrect. The racial blindness that draws attention to in his novel reflects his own preparation of his readership during the mid nineteenth century, in which he thought Americans to be ignorant of cultural and social issues. When one couples the relentless reminder of Delan’s racial blindness with Melville’s general skepticism during this time. It becomes clear that novella is just as much a work for his readers as it is an avenue for Melville to insightfully examine the social dynamics and delano’s role in them aboard the San Dominick.

Rhetoric the art of persuasion and poetry being the art of imitation. The two forms were integrated . language that makes abundant use of figures of speech and language that aims to be powerfully persuasive.  Poetry can be defined through the relationship of the author to the speaker, and by extension, that of the speaker to the reader.it is crucial to make the distinction between the voice that speaks the poem and the poet who created it, for the author may not be intending for their voice to narrate.Rhetorical devices are used to exaggerate and sometimes the human experience. Culler means to treat poems on a different level than other forms of rhetoric. Poems are simply explorations in poetry through the use of those rhetorical devices, and at their basest sense, are attempts at creating meaning from our experiences.

literature opens our eyes and makes us see more than just what the front door shows. It helps us realize the wide world outside, surrounding us. With this, we begin to learn, ask questions, and build our intuitions and instincts. We expand our minds. Literature means interpretation according to Jonathan Culler. Language expresses that existing idea by culler theory. Every language has its own influence and action of its speakers. The important point is when anyone has learned a new language is stuck in many ways. Culler states three different dimensions there are the meaning of the world. Culler states that the meaning of work is that the accomplished what the writer thinks during the process of writing and what the writer’s thinking at some moment in writing. It is about what people understand in the text. Culler says meaning is context bound but context is boundless. People’s cognition of such a symbol is often related to their experience or education , because people’s cognition of words is endowed with meaning. Language has certain limitations on the author’s way of expression that are limited by the rigidity of language. When reading literary works, the most important thing is how the author analyzes the situation.Talking about the use of language, two things are important – Displacement and Open-endedness. literature sources from way back in history to give them at least some examples of language of that time. A single literary source, such as an old epic, will not show every peculiarity of the language used, both written and spoken, at that time, but it is at least something to start with when you’re trying to find out what the language was like back in those days.

Literature is various components of the text that are brought into complex relation. It grabs readers attention. Literary work is a linguistic event which includes speakers, actors, events and an implied audience. Speakers have reactions between authors, what authors think always matters of interpretation. Literature is an ideological instrument to set stories that seduce readers into accepting the hierarchical arrangements of society. The culler defines Literature from the angle of it. Culler mentioned in the article , the literary work is a linguistic event which projects a fictional world that includes speakers, actors, events and implied audiences. Fiction literature gives us a chance to interpret events according to our imagination. Fictional literary work is not limited to the time at which work is written. It depends on the time in the work that the story revolves.

What is literature and does it matter ? Jonathan cellular points out that literature is interesting to think that the definition of the world itself is not so easily pinned down. Many qualities of literature can be applied to outside subjects with relative ease. Culler mentions that it comes in all shapes and sizes and literature may have some qualities that differentiate it from autobiography or song for instance. literary apart from other forms of writing. The nature of literature is also important because of their unique structure and function many types of poetry are instantly recognizable. Literature creates a fictional world in which the reader is privy to complex narrative woven using different techniques. Literature matters because theory has heighted the literariness of texts of all sorts. The suspension of the demand for immediate intelligibility, reflection on the implications of means expression, and attention on the implications of means of expression and attention to how meaning is made and pleasure produced.
